Hot RE Tech – free websites for real estate pros?
Posted on 29 November 2008 by Russ
I am proud to announce that I will be partnering with Ho RE Tech as their head developer and designer. HOT RE Tech provides FREE websites and web tools to real estate agents in Atlanta and surrounding areas. The site is scheduled to go live on December 15th. When you have a moment, take a look and tell me what you think. Please remember that nothing is “official” yet.

I’m sure the people at Ho Re meant it to sound like ‘Hooray’ but when I saw it I thought it looked like ‘Whore’. But then I’m Irish. We use that word, on occasion.

Interesting and tempting indeed. Real estate really would boom with the use of the internet and a site. Anyway, I will recommend this to few of my buddies. Thanks for the information. Cheers

In Spain we have seen an influx of people with no real estate knowledge or experience suddenly starting websites selling houses online and taking the work away from the real Spanish real estate agents. The internet as much as it helps real estate companies can also be their biggest nightmare.

My real estate agent happened to tell the seller’s real estate agent that we found out some of these things on the property – most importantly about the flooding – and now the selling real estate agent wants me to sign a bunch of documents listing out what I found out as if she had told me about them. I don’t want to do it – it took considerable effort for me to uncover these issues and I have already signed off on contingencies.

Lately, I’ve been very active in the Active Rain Real Estate Network – if you haven’t registered, Active Rain is a community of Real Estate professionals – agents, loan officers, home inspectors, etc. It’s growing daily and currently has over 14,000 members. Active Rain is absolutely free to join and offers several activities members can participate in to interact with other real estate professionals around the country.

To help your content on the web get exposed to the “searching” individuals that are on their Google.com site everyday. You should be taking full advantage of things like Google Maps, Adwords, Youtube. You should look into improving operations using tools like Google Apps, Google Earth, Analytics, and Sketch-up.

Regulatory and policy uncertainty take precedence at the top of the list of challenges stifling the growth of renewables. Add to this a growing fear of federal deficits—and the limits on stimulus funding it implies—and potential investors are left with a legislative and administrative environment that makes investments in clean tech less attractive.
Government whimsy is not the only challenge faced by those looking to invest in renewable technologies. The young nature of the industry also presents problems. With certain sectors missing or in very early stages of development, new companies are forced to create the parts they are missing. This makes coming to scale a slow, difficult, process.
