How good are your Press Releases?
Posted on 03 June 2008 by Russ
The folks at Hubspot have done it again. They are currently beta testing another great tool for bloggers, internet marketers, and webmasters, called Press Release Grader. It is similar to their great Website Grader tool, which I reviewed a couple of months ago. If you have not read that review, make sure you read my review of Website Grader as well.
So here is why I like this tool. First of all it is a lot cheaper than hiring an editor to look over it. The best feature in my opinion is the word cloud, which shows a visual representation of the word usage within the press release. This is extremely helpful when categorizing, tagging and optimizing your press releases, blog posts, or just website content.
In addition it reports link distribution. Take a look at how this article scored. The link positioning and anchor text evaluation is a great tool to have, and is something that from an SEO standpoint does have a lot of value.
Other things I liked: Gobbledygook and Readability.
Cons: I really do not see any glaring issues. Although I think it would be nice if there were an evaluation of the press release url and a Digg/Del.icio.us bookmark/link count similar to Website Grader.
Start using Press Release Grader today and your press releases will be better written, organized, user firendly, search engine optimized and more.
